Premier Textiles benefit from new 30kW Solar Panel System

  • 30kW capacity system installed at Stockport Head Office
  • System comprised of 81 Solar Panels
  • CO2 emissions savings of 5,534 kg per annum
  • Equivalent fixed electricity costs of 4.5p per kWh

Centreco (UK) Limited are delighted to announce the completed installation of a 30kW Solar Panel System for Premier Textiles of Stockport, Greater Manchester. The solar panel system consisting of 81 roof mounted tier one panels will allow Premier Textiles to generate their own green electricity, with the system predicted to save 138 Tonnes of CO2 emissions saved over the next 25 years allowing them to bolster their current green initiatives and environmental policies. These CO2 savings are equivalent to 343,413 miles driven by an average passenger car.

With electricity costs on the rise, Premier Textiles are now able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of 4.5p per kWh over the next 25 years across both their warehouse and production premises. Premier Textiles are also able to benefit from exporting any unused electricity back to the grid and be paid for the that incremental generation.

Despite having some restrictions on available roof space and limited historical electricity usage statistics, through multiple site surveys Centreco were able to design a system specification that maximised the available roof area at their Head Office premises whilst ensuring the best commercial case for Premier Textiles.

Centreco are aware of the importance of long-term sustainability for Premier Textiles so were able to offer a Tier One manufacturer backed 25-year warranty for the solar panels ensuring protection against future electricity price inflation, delivering energy security and bringing long lasting environmental benefits to this leading importer of yarns and fabrics.

Managing Director of Centreco Jon Williams said “Working with the Premier Textiles team was refreshing. It’s always great to be working with clients who are genuinely engaged and interested in the project, and with clients who understand the commercial and environmental benefits that a solar energy system brings. Despite not having a half hourly meter, our technical teams are always able to find a solution, which in this case involved installing what is effectively a secondary clamp meter during the design phase of the system so we could sufficiently understand Premier’s electricity demands and size the system accordingly to maximise the benefit of the available roof area.”
