Centreco at PropTech Connect 2025 – Shaping the Conversation on Energy and Technology

On 3–4 September at the InterContinental, The O2, Centreco took part in PropTech Connect as exhibitor and sponsor, showcasing our expertise in commercial solar energy system design, installation, and management.

We were thrilled to contribute to the fresh thinking and innovative conversations at the event, all centred around helping to bring energy and sustainability to the forefront of the PropTech network. Centreco curated a series of highly engaged sessions that explored how technology and energy strategy can transform asset performance.

Panel Discussion session – Harnessing Technology to Boost Efficiency in Industrial Real Estate Operations

David Taylor of DCC contributed to a high-profile panel discussion. This session brought together senior voices from across the sector to explore how digital solutions, energy strategy and operational technology are reshaping industrial assets.

David Taylor highlighted “that adopting smart energy strategies and digital tools isn’t just about compliance or cost savings — it’s about future-proofing industrial assets, enhancing resilience, and creating long-term value for both operators and occupiers.  Technology and energy innovation are no longer optional extras in industrial real estate. They directly impact asset value, operational costs, and long-term returns, making them central to investment strategies in today’s market.”

Roundtable session – From Energy Efficiency to Profitability: Using Tech to Unlock the Full Value of Assets

This session, hosted by Nick Wright, MD of OSH Advisory. Andrew Dellow, Director of Strategic Energy at Rolton, and our own David Stretch, Head of Customer Real Estate Solutions, tackled key questions around macro energy challenges, operational efficiency, the role of alternative energy, and how technology is enabling businesses to take greater control of supply and costs.

Reflecting on the session, David Stretch commented, “It’s not about volume for the sake of it, but about quality engagements that drive collaboration. In both the UK and international I&C space, we’re seeing real momentum around a joined-up approach to renewables. The conversations we’re having through our WeWise network show that when you bring the right people together, the outcomes are smarter, more sustainable, and ultimately more impactful.”

Fireside Chat session – Getting Behind the Meter – Reducing Costs and Taking Control of Energy

The fireside chat featured David Taylor in conversation with Andrew Dellow. Together they addressed the challenges developers face around energy access and cost, while highlighting the opportunities for organisations to take control on the meter side of the network.

Andrew Dellow commented ‘It was a pleasure connecting with developers and investors to discuss the key forces driving industry transformation, particularly challenges arising from the shift toward alternative energy. From Rolton’s perspective, it was essential to highlight the importance of embedding energy strategy from the earliest stages of development. Implementing a forward-thinking phased approach not only delivers immediate efficiencies, but also establishes a strong foundation for the seamless integration of emerging technologies, ultimately future-proofing the assets’.

We are proud to have played an active role in this year’s PropTech Connect, and to have brought vital conversations about energy, technology and profitability to the stage. The appetite for change is clear: commercial property owners and developers are ready to embrace smarter energy solutions that not only lower costs, but also accelerate progress towards net zero.

We look forward to continuing these conversations, deepening collaborations, and helping more organisations take control of their energy future.
