Classic Car Parts Manufacturer Look to the Future with Industry Leading Solar Panel System

  • British Motor Heritage select Centreco (UK) Limited to deliver future-proof industry leading solar panel energy system
  • 162kW capacity system installed across premises
  • System comprised of 432 Tier One Solar Panels
  • CO2 emissions savings of 821 Tonnes across the next 25 years
  • Electricity costs slashed to 3.5p per kW Hour for the long term

Centreco (UK) Limited, the leading installers of commercial solar panel systems are pleased to announce the completion of 162kW Solar Panel System for British Motor Heritage at their manufacturing base in Witney, Oxford. The solar panel system consisting of 432 roof mounted tier one panels will allow this classic car parts manufacturer to generate their own green electricity, with the system predicted to save 821 Tonnes of CO2 emissions saved over the next 25 years allowing British Motor Heritage to significantly reduce their carbon footprint, something of vital importance to them. These CO2 savings are equivalent to 2,037,558 miles driven by an average passenger car.

With electricity costs on the rise, British Motor Heritage are now able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 3.5p per kWh for the next 25 years across their premises. This compares to prices we are currently seeing in the commercial energy market of 25p per kwh, with these prices likely to increase substantially over the future. No commercial energy supplier in the U.K. can match these economics.

Through site surveys and using the latest design techniques Centreco were able to plan and install a solar energy system bespoke to the electricity demands of the client’s premises, thereby ensuring the best commercial returns for British Motor Heritage.

Centreco are aware of the importance of long-term sustainability for British Motor Heritage, so were able to offer a Tier 1 manufacturer backed 25-year performance warranty for the solar panels, allowing confidence in the system’s long-term performance and peace of mind that the environmental and energy security benefits brought by the Centreco system will be realised.

Centreco’s Managing Director Jon Williams said, “British Motor Heritage is a great example of a company who, whilst they may deal with classic cars and use traditional skills daily, they are focussed firmly on the future, as demonstrated by their use of modern materials, equipment, and processes.

This includes their energy usage, and they were keen to use green renewable energy to fulfil their energy demands. The 162kW solar panel system we have installed will allow them to substantially reduce their expenditure on electricity, with one of the key factors of this installation being that it allowed the company to reduce their carbon footprint. It’s a pleasure to work with companies who recognise the importance of using green renewable energy to ensure long term environmental sustainability.”
