Background

Hunts Food Group are a long-established, Food Wholesaler based in Dorset, England. Hunt’s remains family owned and maintains its vision of being a business that manufactures, sells and delivers great tasting food that’s loved by everyone.

Hunt’s called upon Centreco to design and install bespoke solar energy systems at their sites in Shepton Mallet and Stalbridge in order to combat rising energy costs. Desktop and site surveys were conducted and allowed Centreco to model each site’s energy usage to ensure the systems would suit their demands.

Using the latest site modelling techniques Centreco designed and installed two tailored systems, one being a 121kW system in Shepton and another being a 366Kw system in Stalbridge. The Shepton system consists of 322 tier-one panels and takes up just 586sq metres of roof space whilst the Stalbridge installation consists of 976 tier-one panels and spans a total roof area of just 1778sq metres.

These Centreco systems allow Hunt’s Food Group to significantly reduce energy costs, remain competitive as a result and meet the increasing environmental demands of its client base.
