Footprint Tools is manufacturer of high quality hand tools for tradesmen, based in Sheffield. They can trace their hand tool manufacturing back as far as the 18th century when the Alfrid Ridge brand was established as a manufacturer of wood working tools.

Market leaders in the UK for builders tools such as line pins, cold chisels and bolsters, Footprint takes pride in maintaining the highest of standards for quality of product and of service. They take pride in manufacturing in the UK. This is why they still have their own factory in Sheffield, and not just a warehouse. Footprint owns and operates drop stamp forges, furnaces and many other machines in the manufacture of our high quality hand tools.

As Footprint’s manufacturing process involves heavy manufacturing, Footprint were keen on exploring methods to reduce their carbon footprint, and bolster their green credentials. After exploring installation options, Centreco were selected to design and install a bespoke 115kW Roof Mounted Tier One Solar Energy System. This specification of system was selected to deliver the best long term commercial returns for Footprint and ensure a green future for the company.
