Being a working farm brings with it significant challenges, not least the high electricity usage with machinery running round the clock in typically rural locations. This was the challenge for the team over at D Hughes & Sons. With rising electricity costs as well as rising pressure from within the supply chain, they were keen to explore if Solar would be a viable option for them.

Centreco had to work closely with the local distribution network operator (DNO) and D Hughes & Son to design a system that was suitable for all parties whilst delivering the required commercial returns.

Through extensive modelling and discussions with the local DNO, Centreco were able to design and install a system that met the local restrictions from the DNO whilst still proving commercially viable for D Hughes & Sons.
