Background
Biotage is a global impact tech company committed to solving society’s problems. Their customers span a broad range of market segments including pharmaceutical, biotech, contract research, and contract manufacturers as well as clinical, forensic and academic laboratories.
In response to ever-increasing energy costs at the Biotage facility in Ystrad Mynach, the team called upon Centreco to design and install a bespoke solar energy system. Using the latest site modelling techniques Centreco presented a 138kW solar energy system. Further desktop and site surveys allowed Centreco to tailor the system to ensure that it matched the needs of Biotage to ensure the best possible returns.
The system, consisting of 372 tier-one panels takes up just 678sq metres of roof space and allows Biotage to benefit from fixed energy rates at just 4.4p per kW Hour for the long-term.
