  • System comprised of 122 Tier One Solar Panels

  • “Centreco were in another ballpark against the competition”

Centreco (UK) Limited, one of the UK’s leading commercial solar installers, are pleased to announce the completion of a 51kW Solar Panel System for A. Mir & Co. The solar energy system consisting of 122 roof mounted tier one panels will allow the owners of the Royalcraft brand to generate their own green electricity. The system is predicted to save over 265 Tonnes of CO2 emissions over the next 25 years allowing the leading supplier of garden furniture and outdoor living accessories to significantly reduce their carbon footprint. These CO2 savings are equivalent to over 668,606 miles being driven by an average passenger car.

A Mir & Co were keen to proceed with the solar energy installation as they seek to further develop their B2C brand Royalcraft. As consumers are placing a greater significance on the green credentials of brands prior to making purchasing decisions, A Mir & Co are developing their Royalcraft brand with environmentally friendly values at the heart of the brand. The installation of a Centreco Solar Energy System was a natural next step in a wider sustainability programme for the Company.

With electricity costs on the rise, Royalcraft’s operators are now able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 3.7p per kWh projected over the next 25 years. This offers a substantial saving against grid supplied electricity rates currently available and protects against long-term inflationary pressures on energy costs.

Warehouse Manager Richard Willetts, who oversaw the solar energy project on behalf of the Royalcraft operations, said “Part of our standard due-diligence processes before proceeding with an investment such as this, is to gain several other quotes, however we knew very early on in this process that it was Centreco we were looking to proceed with. Centreco were in another ballpark in terms of their levels of professionalism in the development stage of this project compared to other installers we were talking to. Their in-house scaffolding, installation and electrical teams reflected this when they started to install on our site itself. They represented Centreco in the most professional manner whilst on our premises. They were all incredibly clean whilst working, very friendly and courteous to our staff and visitors – something I very rarely notice when we have external contractors on site.”

Centreco’s Senior Project Manager Alan Cuthbert said, “It is great to see that Royalcraft recognised the professionalism in which Centreco operate and how our in-house teams provide a high-quality installation service whilst on a client’s site.

A Mir & Co have put sustainability at the heart of the Royalcraft brand and as a result they can now benefit from green energy generated from their own solar energy system at a rate that is considerably less than the grid is currently offering. Solar energy is a win-win for this renowned outdoor furniture business and Centreco are proud to have played our part in further bolstering Royalcraft’s environmental credentials.”
