- Centreco the most cost-effective installer
Leading UK commercial solar energy installers, Centreco (UK) Limited, announce the completion of a 35kW Solar Panel System for 3D Aluminium at their premisses in Oxford. The solar energy system consisting of 93 roof mounted tier one panels will allow 3D Aluminium to generate their own green electricity. With the system predicted to save over 162 Tonnes of CO2 emissions over the next 25 years allowing the specialists in commercial windows, doors, framing systems to significantly reduce their carbon footprint, future-proofing their manufacturing operations. These CO2 savings are equivalent to 409,287 miles driven by an average passenger car.
For 3D Aluminium, the project was also financially focussed as they were keen to benefit from the exceptional cost saving opportunities that a solar energy system from Centreco will deliver. To achieve this, Centreco designed, installed, and optimised a bespoke system for the client. 3D Aluminium are now able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 5.1p per kWh projected over the next 25 years.
This offers a substantial saving against grid supplied electricity rates currently available and protects against long-term inflationary pressures on energy prices. This solar energy system from Centreco gives 3D Aluminium immediate savings and peace of mind that they are protected against any current or future energy price hikes – this being more important than ever given supply and cost pressures across the energy market.
3D Aluminium’s Operations Director, Paul Batts referred to this; “As part of our standard due diligence before proceeding with any project such as this, we did perform market research to ensure Centreco’s competitiveness. After seeking quotes from other installers, we were pleased that Centreco were not only the most cost effective, but also had a portfolio of prior installations which demonstrated their industry experience.”
As 3D Aluminium work not only with commercial clients, but also public sector organisations, they, like many of Centeco’s clients, were facing increasing pressure to demonstrate their environmental credentials. The move to self-generated solar energy ensures 3D Aluminium’s focus on a green future for the company, meeting their client’s environmental demands and constituting the next major stage of their sustainability plans, resulting in a significant reduction in their CO2 emissions.
Centreco’s Operations Manager, Phil Mooney said, “3D Aluminium are typical of many of Centreco’s clients in that they are selecting self-generated solar energy to bolster their environmental and sustainability programmes. This stems from increasing pressure on supply chains and contractors to be operating in as environmentally friendly manner as possible whilst maintaining competitiveness.
At Centreco we pride ourselves on being one of the UK’s leading commercial solar energy system installers and our ability to be most cost effective for our clients is critical to maintaining our market position. It was great to hear that 3D Aluminium recognised this after performing their own research.
Due to increasing market demand for 3D Aluminium, they have stepped up their operation capacity and as such are now planning an extension to their currently installed system. We are pleased that following the initial installation delivering the predicted financial and environmental returns, 3D Aluminium have come directly back to Centreco to organise this extension. The modular nature of the systems we install ensure that this extension will be fitted with no disruption to 3D Aluminium’s operation and the client can seamlessly bolster their green energy output to meet their future requirements.”
Reflecting on the overall installation, Paul Batts further commented “3D Aluminium has a strong history of being true industry leaders within the Window, Door, and Curtain Walling manufacturing sectors, and we have achieved this by always holding ourselves to the highest standards possible in every aspect of our daily operations. This includes within our green and sustainability programmes, and the installation of a solar energy system from Centreco was the next step on our journey to delivering on our own long-term sustainability strategy. This was a significant investment for ourselves, however an extremely important and worthwhile one as we continually look to develop and evolve the future of 3D Aluminium.”
