  • Centreco deliver 9.6MW of new solar energy capacity in last six months
  • Three-fold increase in commercial solar energy system installation run rate
  • The company invests further in increased installation resources
  • Committed future developments at over 30MW
  • Long term demand for self-generated solar energy very strong
  • Development teams growing to deliver further expansion for Centreco

Centreco, a market leading provider of solar energy systems to businesses in the U.K., have delivered 9.6MW of new renewable energy generation capacity across the first six months of their financial year.

This represents a three-fold increase in installed capacity year on year being driven by increased demand from businesses with escalating energy costs and environmental pressures addressed by the financial benefits of a Centreco solar energy system, which delivers immediate payback and long-term cost savings, combined with substantially reducing CO2 emissions.

Centreco have invested heavily in bolstering their operational capacity across the U.K. in the last twelve months to meet this increased demand with additional installation teams recruited and trained, backed by new in-house scaffolding, logistics and project management resources.

The business sees this growth rate continuing at pace with over 30MW of installations already committed from their clients over the coming months. This is aligned to Centreco further developing its project delivery teams to meet this run-rate and to allow for significant further incremental expansion during 2023.

Adrian Dunleavy, Chairman of Centreco, says “the business is well positioned being a dedicated provider of solar energy systems for companies that are mid to high end users of electricity in their facilities. This sector has been hit by energy cost increases and continued sustainability pressures on their operations and self-generated solar energy is the perfect solution to address these demands.

For example, the capacity brought to the market by Centreco just in the last six months will deliver 1,300 Tonnes of CO2 savings per annum, in excess of £50 Million of electricity cost savings over the next 25 years with clients benefitting from an equivalent price hedge of only 4.5 pence per kilowatt hour versus the commercial market average at 35.0 pence per kilowatt hour today.

The Centreco proposition is a compelling offer, and we are pleased to be able to bring an increasing number of solar energy systems on stream to drive down cost and reduce emissions for businesses across the United Kingdom.”

Jon Williams, Managing Director of Centreco, says “we offer a full turnkey solution for our business clients with design, modelling, logistics, installation and project management all being undertaken through in house resources. To that end we have invested in the recruitment and training of new staff, in capital equipment and resources and the development of our systems to meet the increasing demand and maintain our quality installation processes.

We are seeing these Operations delivering now with installations undertaken across 43 sites over these past six months. Centreco continue to invest in our reach with a further increased number of installation teams coming through over the next few months building capacity to deliver accelerated growth bolstered by a strong forward book of confirmed projects.

Longer term demand looks strong with the financial pressures of electricity usage forecast to continue and environmental considerations increasing within supply chains a growing number of operations will be looking to self-generated sustainable power as a way of countering these factors.

Centreco are building our client services and development teams to work alongside new clients to release the potential of their redundant roof space and develop their own solar energy installations with our help. Our aim is to be the largest provider of solar energy systems to businesses in the UK and Centreco look forward to being able to work with an increasing number of leading UK businesses over the coming months.”

Diamond Interiors partner with Centreco to deliver on greener future

Image: Centreco Mid-Installation of a Similarly Sized Solar Energy System

  • Centreco complete industry leading solar energy system for Diamond Interiors
  • 21kW capacity system installed at Wigan Premises
  • System comprised of 54 Tier One Solar Panels
  • Electricity costs slashed to 6.7p per kW Hour for the long term
  • Centreco design bespoke installation to provide best commercial returns

Centreco (UK) Limited, leading UK commercial solar energy system installers, announce the completion of a 21kW Solar Panel System for Diamond Interiors, the high-quality specialist commercial workspace design and fit out Company, at their premises in Wigan.

As relatively light users of electricity, it was important that any solar installation had a strong commercial case for Diamond. To achieve this, Centreco designed and installed a bespoke solar energy system consisting of 54 roof mounted tier one panels. Prior to installing the system, Centreco analysed Diamond’s electricity usage profile and designed this specification system to ensure they use as much of the electricity generated as possible with minimal being sold back to the grid in order to maximise returns. This alongside the utilisation of prime facing roof space allowed for a system providing maximum efficiency and an even panel layout.

With electricity costs on the rise, Diamond Interiors, are able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 6.7p per kWh projected over the next 25 years. This offers a substantial saving against grid supplied electricity rates currently available and protects against long-term inflationary pressures on energy costs. This being more critical than ever as more SMEs across the UK feel the knock-on effects of the current energy crisis.

Nick Pollitt, Managing Director of Diamond Interiors said “Like many companies across the UK, we were really starting to feel the effects of rising energy prices and we knew we had to explore options that would provide some stability over this. We came across Centreco and the whole process was so nice and easy, that to be honest I never explored any other installers, as I felt I didn’t have to. Centreco really understood our business and the commercial case they presented provided so many opportunities for long term savings and allowed us to truly demonstrate our commitment to creating a greener future for the company.

Chris Duffy, Energy Consultant at Centreco said “As with most businesses in the UK, Diamond Interiors were impacted by the ongoing energy crisis and were keen to gain some long-term electricity cost savings and improve their environmental credentials further. Despite Diamond not being the largest energy consumer, a Solar Energy System from Centreco will still make compelling commercial sense with us using the latest design techniques and panel layout to ensure that the client is using a high proportion of the electricity generated by the installation.”

Allied Filter Systems Ltd Complete Centreco Solar Energy Installation as Commercial Case Stacks Up ‘Now More Than Ever’

Image: Centreco Installation at Allied Filter Systems Ltd in Irlam, Manchester (77kW solar energy system)

  • Centreco provide an industry leading solar energy system for Allied Filter Systems Ltd
  • 77kW capacity system installed at Irlam, Manchester Premises
  • System comprised of 188 Tier One Solar Panels
  • CO2 emissions savings of over 381 Tonnes across the next 25 years
  • Electricity costs slashed to 3.7p per kW Hour for the long term
  • Positively address the implications of Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting requirements
  • Case for Solar Energy Installation “makes more sense than ever”

Centreco (UK) Limited, leading UK commercial solar energy system installers, announce the completion of a 77kW Solar Panel System for Allied Filter Systems Ltd at their premises in Irlam, Manchester. The solar energy system consisting of 188 roof mounted tier one panels will allow Allied Filter Systems Ltd to generate their own green electricity, with the system predicted to save over 381 Tonnes of CO2 emissions over the next 25 years allowing the leading manufacturer and supplier of filtration systems, consumables, and equipment to significantly reduce their carbon footprint. These CO2 savings are equivalent to over 961,152 miles being driven by an average passenger car.

As one of the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of Filtration systems and consumables, Allied Filter Systems Ltd often form part of a wider supply chain for industries including within the Chemical, Coatings and Food and Beverage sectors. Many companies within these sectors are facing increasing pressure to ensure their supply chains are environmentally friendly in line with the SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting requirements).

SECR is having an influence on listed, large and mid-scale businesses with a requirement to report their energy usage and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. It is widely believed that a greater importance will be placed on these reports as SECR continues to develop and evolve over the coming years, with potential financial penalties issued to companies who do not have initiatives in place to reduce their emissions. Allied Filter Systems Ltd have future proofed their operations with a move to self-generated solar energy now and have positively addressed the pending implications of SECR.

With electricity costs on the rise, Allied Filter Systems Ltd are also able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 3.7p per kWh projected over the next 25 years. This offers a substantial saving against grid supplied electricity rates currently available and protects against long-term inflationary pressures on energy costs.

Dan Thompson, Managing Director of Allied Filter Systems Ltd said “Centreco did originally approach us a few years back looking to provide us with a solar energy installation, but at the time, we felt we had other business priorities and, in our eyes, whilst we could understand the benefits, we felt that we had to prioritise other long-term investments. Given the current energy crisis, and ever-increasing environmental awareness within supply chains, we knew we had to explore solar again, and honestly, I wish we had done it sooner. When we looked at the figures, we were taken aback by the payback period, perspective savings and in my eyes, it did just make more sense than ever before.”

Alan Cuthbert, Senior Project Manager at Centreco said “It is great to hear that Allied Filter Systems Ltd recognised the benefits and the strong commercial case that a Centreco Commercial Solar Installation brings, especially given the wider uncertainty surrounding the energy sector and the implications of SECR within supply chains.

Allied Filter Systems Ltd are now able to benefit equivalent fixed electricity costs of just 3.7p per kWh projected over the next 25 years, a rate the grid simply cannot match. This will provide them with much needed security and peace of mind in a competitive business sector.”
