Background
Gomer Press specialise in book printing and binding and as a fourth generation family owned business (established in 1892), they pride themselves on the quality, customer service and technical excellence. Running state-of-the-art machinery including B1 UV litho press and B1 Heidelberg XL106 LE-UV, Gomer were keen to explore the options available to them to reduce their environmental impact as part of a wider sustainability programme.
Centreco were approached to design and deliver a bespoke 184kw Solar Energy System, designed to make use of the available roof space whilst providing the best long term commercial returns by matching Gomer Press’ energy usage profile. The system is able to deliver electricity at a rate, which grid suppliers cannot match or even get close to.

Background
Specialist Trade Printing suppliers Flexpress Ltd often work as an outsourced partner for other printing companies, and as such they face increasing pressure from within their supply chains. This pressure is not only regarding pricing, but also on their environmental credentials.
After exploring options to provide stability on their electricity costs, as well as increasing their green credentials, Centreco were selected to design and install a bespoke 29kW Solar Energy System, designed to provide the most commercially attractive returns.

Background
Located in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales with offices in London and Glasgow. Employing over 230 dedicated staff, Stephens & George specialise in the printing of magazines, brochures, catalogues, programmes, event guides and commercial products.
Similar to many other companies in the industry, Stephens & George were facing ever-increasing energy prices. They were typical of many of Centreco’s previous clients and it wasn’t long until the team at Stephens & George realised the array of benefits a solar energy system had to offer.
Using the latest site modelling techniques Centreco designed and installed a tailored 1379kW renewable energy system at the company’s Merthyr Tydfil premises. The system consists of 3676 tier-one panels, takes up just 6697sq metres of roof space and allows Stephens & George to protect themselves from potential energy price hikes in the future.
