Background

Heaps Arnold & Heaps are a world-leading manufacturer of Lead, Tin and Solder products. A long-standing manufacturing business first established in 1770, the company has adapted through its history to the demands of its customers by providing competitive high-quality products and meeting the demands of a fast-changing market, which is of late has increasingly focussed on the environmental impacts of supply chains.

A Centreco solar energy system met these challenges head on by reducing Heaps, Arnold and Heaps energy costs and reducing their CO2 emissions.

Desktop and on-site surveys allowed Centreco to model the Heaps operations’ energy usage and match these to the system specification, to ensure the system would suit their demands.

Using the latest site modelling techniques Centreco designed and installed a tailored 38kW renewable energy system at the company’s Rotherham premises. This system consists of 102 tier-one panels, it takes up just 179sq metres of roof space and allows Heaps Arnold to benefit from fixed energy rates at just 4.5p per kW Hour for the long-term.

The Centreco system allows the Heaps Arnold and Heaps operation to reduce electricity costs, remain competitive as a result and meet the increasing environmental demands of its client base.
